Sony unveils WF

The company has integrated its advanced noise-canceling technology in the WF-1000XM5 to ensure that users can shut out intrusive external sounds

Sony has unveiled the WF-1000XM5 truly wireless earbuds, the latest model in its 1000X series.

The wireless earbuds are equipped with Sony’s proprietary integrated processor V2 and noise-cancelling QN2e processor, making them capable of active noise cancellation (ANC). The unique combination of technology controls the six microphones, across both ears, to deliver unprecedented noise-cancelling quality that can be adapted to provide the best performance for your environment.

The company has raised the bar for distraction-free listening and clarity with the WF-1000XM5. The wireless earbuds feature cutting-edge technology to deliver premium sound quality and the best noise-cancelling performance on the market.

The WF-1000XM5’s real-time audio processors and high-performance mics power the specially designed driver unit Dynamic Driver X, for wide frequency reproduction, deep bass and clear vocals.

The WF-1000XM5 now feature three microphones on each earbud, including dual feedback mics, which improve low-frequency cancellation performance. This is Sony’s biggest-ever step forward in noise cancelling, resulting in ambient sound captured even more accurately.

The ability to reproduce lower frequencies has also been improved on the WF-1000XM5, thanks to the new Dynamic Driver X. Plus, the Noise Isolation Earbud Tips feature a unique polyurethane foam material that reduces noise in the high-frequency range.

The WF-1000XM5 earbuds have been designed with comfort in mind, featuring an improved, glossy texture and luxurious feel that will make them a pleasure to wear.

The shape of the earbuds is modelled after the human ear, with an ergonomic design that ensures a secure and stable fit. Similarly, the earbuds are approximately 25 per cent smaller and approximately 20 per cent lighter than their predecessor (WF-1000XM4), making them more comfortable to wear for extended periods.

One of the headline features of the WF-1000XM5 is the 8 hours of battery life, which allows users to enjoy hours of uninterrupted listening time while a quick 3-minute charge provides up to 60 minutes of play time

The earbuds also come with a unique “Quick Attention Mode” that lets users instantly lower their music volume by placing a finger over the earbud. It’s perfect for moments when you need to have a quick conversation without the hassle of removing the earbuds.

On the sustainability front, the WF-1000XM5 uses recycled plastic materials and adopts Sony’s proprietary paper Original Blended Material for the packaging.
